Open House
The Girls of Steel hosted an open house to allow new people to see what we’re all about. We, along with team 1708, gave robot demonstrations. There were different stations for each sub team. We also had a marshmallow and toothpick structure construction contest. All of our sub teams, including media, outreach, and finance, gave informational presentations. Over 150 people total were able to attend.

On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the Girls of Steel have been mentoring a FIRST FLL team in Fox Chapel. “It’s really rewarding to work with middle schoolers and to help them improve their robots,” says Simran Parwani. They recently came in third at the regional scrimmage at Shadyside academy on October 26th.
